Empowering Rural Odisha’s Healthcare System

In rural Odisha, healthcare is relatively inaccessible and poorly facilitated. CMS & ED, Community Medical Services & Essential Drugs, by MSMG Foundation provides a much-needed stepping stone for potential health workers to fill in the gaps in medical services and provide essential health care to disadvantaged populations.

Through this program, locals can take their first step in the healthcare sector and, through it, take an active part in health improvement and welfare at the local village and town levels.

Comprehensive Overview of the CMS & ED Program

The CMS & ED is a two-year diploma that equips students with basic knowledge of primary healthcare using WHO-approved allopathic medicines. Graduates are trained to deliver basic medical services according to the guidelines set by the Supreme Court of India. Eligible candidates must have passed higher secondary education in science, and the course also accepts those who have alternative medicine degrees like BAMS, BEMS, or DEHM, who want to enter into allopathic medical practice.

Eligibility Requirements for the CMS & ED Program

Applicants who are interested in applying for admission to the CMS & ED program must have completed higher secondary education with a focus on science. Besides, the course is planned for students holding alternative medicine degrees, such as BAMS, BEMS, or DEHM, which would lead to an alternative medicine graduate to join the stream of allopathic medical practice.

Career Opportunities for CMS & ED Graduates

There is a great demand for rural healthcare professionals in the State of Odisha for providing primary medical care. After CMS & ED, graduates have wide employment opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives as follows:

Enhancing Healthcare in Rural Odisha

This geographically diverse land leaves its rural populations vulnerable to a number of public health issues related to the spreading of infectious diseases. The CMS & ED course equips the students with all the expertise necessary to deal with these issues, through the delivery of primary healthcare as well as through the promotion of preventive health strategies.

Graduates of MSMG Foundation’s CMS & ED program will play a pivotal role in enhancing access and quality of healthcare for the marginalized, especially in rural Jharkhand. It will be an important effort towards addressing local health needs and contributing to the betterment of well-being among the residents of all the underserved regions of the state.
